Oliver’s region is home to Canada’s only desert and frequently records the highest temperatures.  The landscape is dotted with treeless rock escarpments, silver sagebrush and cacti, and the heat lends itself well with the availability of irrigation. Oliver is graced with astounding views, terraced vineyards and fruit orchards, several nearby lakes, golf courses and an abundance of other recreational areas.  It is estimated that the Town of Oliver hosts more than 100,000 tourists each year.
